Matrix - Count instances vs. Count Labels

NOTE: Beginning December 31st, 2017, development of Studiocode and iCoda will stop and new licenses will not be available for purchase. Please consider Vosaic as a replacement. Read More.

By default, the Matrix is an Instance counter. Meaning, if one Instance has duplicate Labels on it, the Matrix will return a 1 by default.

In some situations, it may be necessary to purposely label an Instance with more than one of the same Label. In such cases, counting Labels might be valuable.

The following instructions explain how to change the default Matrix setting so that it becomes a Label counter instead of an Instance counter.

1. Open the desired Matrix
2. Click on the "Settings" icon in the top right corner of the Matrix. A roll down window will open.
3. Check the box, "Count labels inside of instances"
