In this video tutorial we're going to go over how to add a new column.

Really why you would add a new column to a sorter as well so in order to add a new column just signal single click on the column icon here on the toolbar. That adds a new column actually to the right of whatever cell was selected. I should have mentioned that this first cell in column 9 was selected that's why this column 11 got added just to the right there and in this case it's called column 11 because I actually had a column ten there that I deleted a minute ago so once I add the column well before I say that let me explain that my thought process here or the typical reason why one would add a new column to a sorter is because in the process of watching the video in this order maybe it informs your analysis process or labeling process in that you want to add more labels to these rows or instances so we can use this new column to do that but it's important that once we add the new column right click or control click on the column number at the top and make this a group column.

Then you can see the column header turns purple to let you know it's a group column and maybe you know the there's additional labels. I want to add to these instances and they're in the realm or domain of safety now I can just type or add labels into these cells in a few different ways and there's other tutorials on that but that would be the reason and process to add a new column to a sorter.
